tony phillips bio photo
My name is Tony Phillips, born on Robbie Burns Day in 1943 in Brighton, England. I have been in North America since...
... 1968. Wife Sarah and I moved to a rural part of Fort Bragg, California in 2000 to enjoy our retirement. I am an avid reader of arcane books, have an eclectic collection of nearly 10,000 pieces of music and am a train nut - I love real ones and all types of model ones. I am the Mendocino Coast Model Railroad & Historical Society's historian and with enormous help from my friend Roger Thornburn (the blog's webmaster) have compiled a history of the railroads that operated along the Mendocino Coast - you can find it at Mendorailhistory.com. My torso reveals my other love - food and chocolate. I am blessed with four great kids with whom I have had great adventures. I have, alas, grown old but definitely have not grown up.

If you have any comments or complaints about this blog please address them to me, Tony Phillips (philt95437@comcast.net). The responsibility for everything herein is mine.

August 23, 2017 by Tony Phillips

If there was no ready at hand supply of water for the steam donkey that a mule brought water in paniers from the nearest water source. Here’s a mule at work …..

Most mules working in the woods were named Maude
